The credit card deposit is just a hold / pre-authorization and is fully refundable. In case the client wishes to pay the amount due by credit card the amount will be deducted from the credit card deposit. As soon as the credit card is processed, the remaining amount will automatically be released by the bank. If the client wishes to pay the amount due in cash, the hold / pre-authorization will automatically be released by the bank in one to two weeks. Insurance
Third Party Insurance
All rental prices includes the third party insurance. Third party insurance is the legal minimum. This means you’re covered if you have an accident causing damage or injury to any other person, vehicle, animal or property. It doesn’t cover any other costs like repair to the rental vehicle. Only in case of an accident in which the other vehicle / person is at fault the rental vehicle will be covered.
Collision Damage Waiver
We also offer an extra insurance against collision which is called C.D.W. short for collision damage waiver. This insurance is optional and is not mandatory for the client to accept.
This insurance covers a collision caused by the client and has a deductible. The deductible is the amount which is for own risk of the client. Even though the client accepts the C.D.W. the deductible is mandatory to be paid by the client. For example if the vehicle damage is surveyed at $1,500.00 the client will only have to pay the deductible. In case the damages made are less than the deductible then the client will only pay the damage amount and not the full deductible. Keep in mind that this is only the case if the client accepted the insurance. If the client declined the insurance he or she is responsible for all damages to the vehicle. The rate for the C.D.W. and deductible depends on the type of vehicle that is being rented. The rates and deductible are as follows:
The C.D.W. does not cover a collision in which a third party is not involved and also not in case of vehicle theft (ONLY COLLISION!). A collision in which a third party is not involved is for example when a client rents a vehicle and he/she drives it in a wall in this case there was no other vehicle involved in the collision. In the case of a collision with no third party involved and vehicle theft the client is completely responsible for the material damage and will have to pay all damages caused to the company. This also means that any tire broken or other small damages done to the car while in the clients possession, he or she will be fully responsible for the damages made.
